Position: Youth Choir Director

Auxiliary/Department: International Youth Mass Choir

Reports To: Lead Director of the International Youth Mass Choir


Role Overview:
The Youth Choir director will serve an integral role in supporting the edification of youth throughout the church, on an international level, through encouraging and strengthening their musical talents and abilities unto the glory of the Lord Jesus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the necessary guidance and direction during choir rehearsals, warm -ups, and selections to assist choir members in achieving the correct tone, pitch, rhythm, tempo, and harmony.
  • Assist through respectfully providing the lead director with professional analysis and recommendations for the success of the choir to include its directors, members/families, supporting staff/ volunteers, events, and logistics.
  • Assist with recommending and selecting songs aligned with the standards of Holiness.
  • Assist with upholding and facilitating the enforcement of choir procedures and standards regarding membership, conduct, attendance, and dress code.
  • Attend scheduled choir staff meetings.
  • Assist with scheduling and facilitating virtual rehearsals and in–person rehearsals.
  • Assisting with selecting individual choir members to perform solos.
  • Assist with creating suitable choir formations for rehearsals and performances.

Qualifications:

  • Baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus or Jesus Christ
  • Clear background & sex offender screening
  • Minimum of 5 years as a faithful member in First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc
  • In good standing at your location and ability to provide a credible reference
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects with grace, clarity, and timeliness
  • Experience working with children of various ages
  • Musical skills, including proficiency in vocal technique
